High Street Sound

High Street Sound is hitting the road and coming to a house near you! We are thrilled to be performing a house concert in Hinton, AB. on Mar. 25 at 7pm! We will be sharing some old favourites as well as a couple new compositions and arrangements. For those suffering from holiday withdrawal, we have the cure! Come out and let us serenade you with a mix of holiday tunes, old favourites and some new arrangements. It’s our first show with the incredible Jo and smashing Vanessa and we’re excited to share our music with you! Tickets are $12. Hope to see you there!

Come join us on Saturday afternoon for some great tunes to help ring in the holiday season! We’ll be decking the hall at Cha Island, December 12th at 2pm.  We are also introducing our newest addition to the group: the talented and hilarious Gloria Wan! Hey look who it is!! The lovely Gloria Wan is the newest member of High Street Sound as our tenor/beatboxer. She is almost as excited to be with us as we are to have her!

Attention High Street Community! We are sad to announce that we’re losing our Tenor, Brett Bews. Brett has moved to Vancouver, so we are holding AUDITIONS for a NEW TENOR in September!

For those of you who don’t know us, High Street Sound is an a cappella ensemble (“mouth band”) based in Edmonton, specializing in contemporary music ranging from jazz to pop and others. We gig around town, and normally meet twice a week for rehearsal and shenanigans. We are a fun-loving group but also have serious ambitions and intend to continue making a big noise in the music scene. Also, we have an ever-growing library of originals and arrangements that’s always open to new contributions.

We just released our first YouTube video! We’re Tegan and Sara fans (and they’re Albertans too!), and really excited to put our own spin on one of their songs.
