High Street Sound seeks new Tenor!

Attention High Street Community! We are sad to announce that we’re losing our Tenor, Brett Bews. Brett has moved to Vancouver, so we are holding AUDITIONS for a NEW TENOR in September!

For those of you who don’t know us, High Street Sound is an a cappella ensemble (“mouth band”) based in Edmonton, specializing in contemporary music ranging from jazz to pop and others. We gig around town, and normally meet twice a week for rehearsal and shenanigans. We are a fun-loving group but also have serious ambitions and intend to continue making a big noise in the music scene. Also, we have an ever-growing library of originals and arrangements that’s always open to new contributions.

The audition process will include a prepared piece of your choice (to be sung solo), a prepared piece from the High Street library (to be sung with the rest of the group), and a non-prepared piece to sight-read with the rest of the group. Additionally we’ll chat with you to learn about your background, interests, and find out about any additional assets (beatboxing, composing/arranging, instruments) that may help our decision.

If this position interests you, please contact us at HighStreetSound@gmail.com. Projected audition dates are September 4 and 6, but we’re also flexible, so let us know if there’s a conflict.
